The Woodlands Stables - Equestrian Academy & Sport Horses

At camps, campers are divided into small groups of rider (3 to 4) with similar riding ability and experience. Each day the campers have a group riding lesson.
Campers learn other aspects of horse care including how to handle a horse on the ground, how to groom a horse, how to tack and un-tack a horse, information about horse health care and nutrition, daily feeding and exercise of horses, tack equipment, care, and purposes, bathing a horse, etc.
Campers also participate in a variety of barn chores including mucking stalls, cleaning tack, and racking the barn aisle! Campers may also enjoy other horse related activities such as making horse treats and learning how to braid a horse's mane and tail.
In addition to the horseback riding lessons and learning about horses, campers will also engage in a variety of arts and crafts. The arts and craft activities may include decorating a canvas bag, painting a horse sculpture, making jewelery, painting one of the actual lesson horses! Campers will also enjoy playing some season appropriate sports.
Campers will have the opportunity to take hikes and trail rides. Different camp games may also be played including water balloon tosses, egg and spoon races, three legged races, sack races, etc.

CLOTHING

• Each camper should dress appropriate for the weather - depending on what camp session child is enrolled for.

• Campers need long pants for their riding lessons. Campers will need appropriate footwear - a boot with a heel. No one may handle or ride a horse in sandals or open toed shoes.

• Campers may bring sneakers and other clothes to change into after their lessons.

Lunch & Beverages

• Campers should bring their own lunch and two snacks (a.m. and p.m.) to camp.

• Pizza will be provided on Friday for our camp graduation party!

• A refrigerator and microwave is available.

• Beverages will be provided.

REGISTRATION

• Please register early as camps fill up very quickly and there are limited spaces available per week.

• In order to register your camper you need to complete the Camp Registration Form and Release Form.

• Completed forms may be emailed.

• Monday - Friday

Full Day Option only: 9am - 3pm

CAMP COST

• $300/ per week per child

• A 10% discount will be given for multiple children
